AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret group.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an special katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
