Brian Eno Calls On Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The song blends a fusion of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have emphasized that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a figure explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
