Iran Claims Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
