Netflix Chooses Ideal Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season

Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Mr. 2. This character can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and anime.

The new cast member is joined by a number of recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to life, featuring chief the main antagonist, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Although this character is a important part of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the part. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece program is due to premiere for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
