Salah Offers Apology to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
